Members of Headquarters station took a phone call just after 2230 hrs for a report of a chemical spill in a commercial business in the 1000 block of Wayne Ave. Crews quickly responded, requesting Communications to start the assignment. CFD units arrived and met with occupants reporting a pallet of fertilizer had fallen, crushing a pallet of Chlorine. Crews began to investigate to determine the chemical involved while Wellspan EMS began assessing all the employees. Crews requested HazMat 13 and Team 200 to the scene. Crews established safe zones and confirmed no other occupants were still inside. Crews assisted the HazMat teams with entry, RIT and decon during the incident. Crews operated for over 3 hours until crews mitigated the spill and confirmed no adverse reactions from the mixture of them.
