Both CFD Engines and Asst. Chief 1 were sent to the 1100 block of Sheller Ave for a reported vehicle fire with entrapment. En route, Communications advised of a working fire and the occupant to have been removed from the vehicle but injured. As crews were approaching a large column of smoke was noted. Engine 1-2 arrived, confirming a working fire. Asst. Chief 1 and Engine 1-1 arrived and crews began fire attack. The occupant was located and moved away from the vehicle with significant injuries. Air medical was requested to the scene, bringing Tower 1 to set up the landing zone. The crew from Wellspan EMS and Ambulance 1-9 handled patient care while the Engine crews contained the fire. CFD crews remained on scene for over 4 hours as multiple agencies conducted an investigation and for the vehicle to be towed from the scene.
