Crews kept busy with multiple responses



CFD units were kept busy Thursday with multiple calls for service to include 12 EMS calls. 1016 hrs - CFD units responded to the 500 block of Wayne Ave for a residential fire alarm. Units from McKinley St station arrived and found burnt food and units cleared. 1340 hrs - Utility 1 and UTV 1 were requested to assist Company 11 on a mountain fire on Forge Hill Road. Crews arrived and the UTV assisted on scene for about an hour. 1400 hrs - CFD units responded to the unit block of N Federal Street for an odor of gas in a residence. Crews arrived and found an odor in the basement. Crews metered the area with no readings and turned the scene over to Borough Gas for further assessment. 1456 hrs. - Engine 1-2 responded to the 500 block of Cumberland Ave for a vehicle accident. Engine 1-2 arrived, finding a single vehicle off the road and into a tree. Crews provided patient care until EMS arrived and assisted CPD before clearing. 1515 hrs - Tower 1 was alerted for a medical call to the Chambersburg High School, Engine 1-2 cleared the accident and responded. 1515 hrs - Engine 1-1 responded to the 300 block of East Washington Street for a residential lock in. The crew arrived and assisted with opening an interior door that was broken to allow the occupant out. 1603 hrs. - Engine 1-2 responded to the unit block of Kelhigh Dr for a child locked in an auto. 2029 hrs. - Engine 1-2 responded on a medical emergency to the 2000 block of Orchard Dr. 2057 hrs. - Tower 1 responded to assist Company 9 to the 4700 block of Steele Ave for smoke in a building. Tower 1 was placed in service while responding. 0608 hrs. - Engine 1-2 responded to the 1100 block of Sheller Ave for wires sparking. Engine 1-2 investigated and returned available. 0628 hrs. - Engine 1-2 and Ambulance 1-7 responded to the 300 block of East Washington Street for a vehicle accident. Units arrived and assisted on scene. Crews had no patients and units returned. |
