CFD units were alerted to the unit block of Kelhigh Dr for a report of an odor of gas in the building. Units arrived and advised of an odor in their unit and what sounds like alarms in the neighboring unit. As units were investigating, a smoke condition was found in the adjacent unit. Crews made entry and found a smoke condition on the first and second floor with sprinkler activation on the second floor. A small fire in a bedroom was located and mostly out due to the sprinkler activation. Crews opened up and ventilated. Crews operated for just under 2 1/2 hours before going in service.
