Just after 0130 hrs CFD crews were sent to the 800 block of Progress Rd for a commercial fire alarm. Units arrived on scene and began to investigate. Crews found smoke conditions inside the rubber recycling building that began to intensify. Crews worked through limited visibility to locate fire within a shredding device in the building. Mutual aid units arrived and assisted with fire attack and opening up. Crews operated for 2 1/2 hours bringing the fire under control and clearing smoke from the building.
